Our Journey
The Floor Store Hamilton has been part of the Waikato flooring industry for 30 years.
Starting as Dave’s Flooring in the late 1990s, the business grew and merged with The Hamilton Rug Company in 2005 to become Floorstyle Limited.
In 2009, we joined The Interiors Group (which includes Carpet Court), gaining the benefits of national buying power, exclusive products and strong relationships with New Zealand's leading flooring suppliers, and officially became The Floor Store Hamilton.
Over the years, the business has grown from a small local flooring store into one of Hamilton's most respected and established residential and commercial flooring businesses.
After 30 years, ownership passed to Hamilton locals James and Natasha Harvey.
Today, The Floor Store Hamilton remains a locally owned and operated family business, with the same experienced team, trusted installers and commitment to quality workmanship and outstanding customer service that the business was built on.
James and Natasha are actively involved in the day-to-day business and are focused on building on its strong foundations while continuing to grow the business’s residential and commercial capabilities throughout Hamilton and the wider Waikato.
They remain committed to doing good business and supporting the people and communities they work with.

We are flooring specialists – not a general interiors business with flooring as one part of what we offer.
That means our people spend every day working with flooring products, installations, floor preparation, technical requirements, specifications, warranties and, importantly, solving flooring problems.
From helping a family choose the right carpet for their home to specifying flooring for a hospital or managing the installation programme on a major commercial construction project, it all comes back to flooring.
We believe that focus gives our customers a genuine advantage. Flooring can be a significant investment, and there is much more to getting it right than choosing a colour from a sample. The right product, correct preparation, installation method and experienced installers all matter to the final result.
Our business covers the full spectrum of residential and commercial flooring.
We supply and install an extensive range of products, including carpet, domestic and commercial vinyl, hard flooring, carpet tiles, rubber, marmoleum, cork and specialist flooring systems. Our commercial capability also extends to specialist wall products, including wall vinyl, Whiterock, Vertiface, Cube panels and other acoustic and protective wall systems.
As part of a national flooring group, we also benefit from significant purchasing power and access to an extensive range of products, while maintaining strong direct relationships with New Zealand's leading flooring suppliers.
We deliberately source our flooring through established New Zealand suppliers rather than importing products ourselves. For us, it is important that the products we put into our customers' homes and businesses have dependable supply, proper technical support and warranties that can be relied upon.
